To Give or Not to Give Up My Seat
Today, on the metro ride back from work, I was chilling in my seat, busy with my phone. After a bit, I noticed this lady standing right in front of me. It seemed like she might be pregnant. I felt bad and decided to stand up and give her my seat, you know, just to be nice. I stepped away so she wouldn't feel awkward about it if she figured I got up for her.
But guess what? When I glanced back, she was still standing there, and someone else had snagged my seat. Turns out, I probably got it wrong about her being pregnant. I felt kinda embarrassed.
People usually say pregnant women should have something that screams "I'm Pregnant" so folks can be considerate. Honestly, I've never actually seen that in real life. The tricky part is, it's not always easy to tell if someone's pregnant or just on the curvier side. If I find myself in that spot again, with either a possible-pregnant or possible-just-chillaxing lady in front of me on the metro, I'll definitely give up my seat. So, here's hoping all the moms-to-be carry around something that announces it.
Being considerate is a good thing, no doubt. But as I'm getting older, I've noticed I'm more into my own comfort zone. Sometimes, I catch myself hesitating when it comes to helpoing others. For now, I'm cool with putting others ahead of me, even if it means I'm a little uncomfortable. But I worry that as I get even older, I might change. Maybe I'll end up caring more about my own comfort than other people's. Time will tell, I guess.

Moms-to-be : Pregnant women (예비엄마, 임신여성)
Considerate : Thoughful and caring towards others
Cool with : Fine with, okay with
Comfort zone : The state of feeling comfortable and at ease
Putting others ahead of me : Prioritizing others over oneself - 나보다 다른 사람을 우선시하다
Time will tell : The future will reveal the truth or outcome. -시간이 알려 줄 거야(시간이 해결해 줄 것이다)
End up ~ing : To finally be in a particular place or situation - 결국 ~ 하게 되다.
